SUMMARY

Oversees and plans inventory control activities for finished goods, fabricated parts, and / or imported machines. Analyzes metrics such as inventory turnover, set up costs, and part dimensions to optimize order quantities and inventory efficiency while satisfying customer demand. Monitors forecasts, sales, trends and shipments to optimize inventory levels and meet customer demands. Responsible for creating and maintaining of a wide range of forecasting and planning measures for the improvement in the demand planning process to meet annual and long-term financial objectives. Converts engineering design bill of materials to manufacturing bill of materials. Monitors performance of in house production departments in order to prevent line stoppages. Locates and expedites critical components and materials as needed to meet production demands. Responsible for purchasing specific product line materials and parts from international suppliers. Ensures the timely delivery of imported goods at the optimum cost and quality. Resolves freight, customs, delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • Ensure open manufacturing orders are processed in a timely manner that meet the needs of the customer.
  • Maintain schedule attainment in accordance with the published goal.
  • Monitor and maintain established targeted inventory levels at Finished Good Warehouses.
  • Ensure A and B classified models are produced and available to cover open sales.
  • Ensure Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance and updating is updated in the ERP system prior to run out of material and start date of production order.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create optimal production schedules based on sales forecasts, actual sales data, production capabilities, capacity restraints, and parts availability.
  • Responsible for securing the supply of materials/parts/machines in a timely and cost efficient manner to satisfy specified inventory levels and customer demand.
  • Coordinates any special needs for expedited components/assemblies with the appropriate personnel.
  • Prioritizes work orders and material needs based on production schedule changes.
  • Work with various production departments to improve/optimize parts flow.
  • Reviews data from the ERP system to predict future needs and possible issues. Brings criteria issues to the attention of management.
  • Verify integrity of proposed design changes and coordinate to minimize scrap costs and ensure smooth transition to new designs
  • Maintain ERP database to ensure proper planning.
  • Maintain serial number database / assign serial numbers to ensure proper identification of finished good machines.
  • Ensures that supplier lead times are accurately planned to prevent disrupts and/or shutdown of the manufacturing assembly process.
  • Monitors the quality and timeliness of materials and goods received. Follows-up on the status of purchase orders and communicates order status to internal stakeholders.
  • Regularly monitors on-site and in-route inventories. Maintains inventory levels in accordance with the business plan, master schedule and forecast.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or related field and six years of planning/forecasting experience including demonstrated proficiency in statistics and modeling with an understanding of financial and operational impacts or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics and possess intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment where priorities often change

  • Good working knowledge of MRP and other scheduling activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • In the area of decision making, possess the ability to conduct complex work important to the organization and contribute to measurable team and/or organizational objectives

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • When on the manufacturing floor, one may be exposed to heat, electrical and mechanical hazards, noise, solvents, dust, dirt, fumes, contaminants, cold, noise, vibration, etc.
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing and ability to move material weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and use measuring equipment
  • Requires standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Must be able to walk and use hands
  • Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate
  • Requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Requires telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interactions with other employees and customers
  • Ability to read, write, listen and speak
  • Travel between Peachtree City facility and Griffin facility as necessary for meetings, work tasks, or for clarification of any other issues pertaining to work.
