Overview:
A leading Fort Worth-based commercial construction firm is seeking a Commercial Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This is a key role responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for a wide range of commercial projects, including education, municipal, healthcare, and private sector developments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in managing estimates from concept through final bid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.

  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and comprehensive pricing.

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.

  • Prepare and present detailed bid proposals and scopes of work.

  • Maintain and update historical cost data for benchmarking and future estimating.

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.

  • Ensure that all estimates comply with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably in general contracting.

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and market pricing.

  • Proficiency with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and Procore ; experience with Sage/Timberline is a plus.

  • Excellent math, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
