We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Specialist to uphold the highest standards of Health Safety management across our construction sites. The role involves providing guidance and support to the Lease Provider and General Contractor, ensuring safety measures are effectively implemented throughout the project.
Responsibilities
- Assist in educating and identifying High-Risk Activities for the Lease Provider and construction contractor.
- Monitor Collaborative Planning related to High-Risk Activities conducted by the Lease Provider and/or construction contractor.
- Track Key Safety Performance Indicators as outlined by the Lease Provider and construction contractor.
- Assess health safety implications due to situational and schedule changes during the project.
- Identify and monitor project Health Safety performance data to accurately assess safety status.
- Stop work and inform appropriate supervision when immediately dangerous to life and health activities are identified.
- Enhance construction safety management processes through on-site presence and active participation in health and safety meetings.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of site Health Safety planning, including HRA safety planning, compliance with KPIs, and safety training.
- Conduct high-level reviews of Risk Assessment and Method Statements, lifting plans, etc.
- Review accident, incident, and near-miss reports, evaluate findings, and monitor corrective measures.
- Encourage and promote Health Safety initiatives to influence positive safety behavior.
- Support contractor participation in structured Health Safety recognition schemes.
- Report daily and weekly to company site representative and EHS representative on safety activities and challenges.
- Conduct daily observations and weekly site inspection reports.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior role within construction Health Safety management.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
- Experience in data center construction and/or operations.
- Proven communication skills with contractors and design teams.
- Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and cloud-based applications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- NFPA 70E Training.
- Safety certification such as CSP or CHST.
- Bilingual capabilities in English and the primary language of the assigned country.
- Formal education in construction safety or similar discipline.
- Membership in recognized Health Safety organizations, preferably at chartered status.
Work Environment
The role requires active participation in on-site activities and meetings, with routine reporting to site and EHS representatives. The work environment promotes collaboration and communication to maintain high safety standards.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
