As a Construction Safety Specialist, you will be pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety management across our construction sites. You will provide support and guidance to the Lease Provider and General Contractor, ensuring all health and safety protocols are adhered to, thus maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in educating and identifying High-Risk Activities (HRA) to the Lease Provider and construction contractor.
  • Monitor Collaborative Planning activities related to High-Risk Activities conducted by the Lease Provider and/or construction contractor.
  • Monitor Key Safety Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to health and safety.
  • Assess health safety implications of situational and schedule changes during the project.
  • Identify and monitor project Health Safety performance data.
  • Stop work and inform appropriate supervision when dangerous activities are observed.
  • Improve existing construction safety management process through on-site presence and active participation in health and safety meetings.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of site Health Safety planning, including HRA safety planning, compliance with KPIs, and safety training.
  • Conduct high-level reviews of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Review accidents, incidents, and near-miss reports, and monitor corrective measures.
  • Encourage Health Safety initiatives and contractor participation in recognition schemes.
  • Report routinely to company site representative and EHS representative on activities and challenges.
  • Conduct a minimum of three daily observations and one weekly site inspection report.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction Health Safety management.
  • Proven experience in construction safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
  • Experience in data center construction and operations.
  • Experience in contractor communications and liaising with design teams.
  • Proficiency in IT applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass specific Lease Providers Security requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 10, 30, and 500 certifications preferred.
  • NFPA 70E Training.
  • Safety certification such as CSP or CHST.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Formal education in construction safety or related discipline.
  • Membership in recognized Health Safety organizations such as IOSH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
