What You Will Contribute:

The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for asset reliability in a safety first and continuous improvement environment and culture. They plan and supervise the preventive maintenance and repair of production process equipment for the facility. . They support building infrastructure and administration area needs by working in conjunction with the Facilities Department. They direct, train, council, hire and supervise the maintenance team. Contractors performing maintenance related work may also be directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Duties:

  • Administer and support safety and environmental programs on site; Ensures compliance of your team and your personal habits with health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Promptly address any unsafe acts or conditions as they become known.

  • Maintain effective housekeeping activities and organization for your area of responsibility and of your team

  • Assume responsibility for EHS standards as they apply to the maintenance department and the plant. Communicates hazardous work to production staff.

  • Ensure contractor compliance with the Company safety standards.

  • Understand the planned maintenance system and ensure maintenance schedules and intervals are current and accurate.

  • Ensure the timely and effective repair of facility machinery and equipment including machine tools, test systems, assembly systems, HVAC equipment, and other factory equipment. Maintain close communication and coordination with the Facilities Department, Safety and Environmental Department, and Plant Management.

  • Implement and maintain routine preventative maintenance program for facility and equipment considered critical to continuing operations. Maintain an asset management system to support machine uptime metrics and provide mechanic accountability to gauge the department performance.

  • Review work requests/orders daily. Prioritize and balance maintenance workload accordingly.

  • Make changes to preventative maintenance schedules based on OEM input and plant experience.

  • Create PMs for existing and new equipment by working with direct manager or other functional areas such as manufacturing engineering. Assign PMs to internal or external resources as required. . Reviews and approves completed work to ensure accuracy and completion. Maintains asset records for equipment.

  • Assist with the development and auditing of LOTO procedures for new equipment with the Safety Department; Ensures lock out tag out, hot work permits, electrical safety, etc. are adhered to.

  • Maintain spares inventory for equipment, systems and processes within the plant.

  • Create and submit appropriate purchase requisitions for required materials and supplies.

  • Perform personnel related activities according to policies and employee handbook. This includes PTO approvals, goal setting, performance reviews, employee development, hiring, dismissal, and disciplinary measures. Develops and executes training programs for employees to ensure team skills are in alignment with departmental needs.

  • Direct and train subordinate maintenance personnel (multi-shift required at certain locations). Plan operations and methods, assign work, and instruct.

  • Optimize schedules to ensure effective utilization of manpower and spares/consumables.

  • Oversee and direct internal labor for machinery installations and movement. Support Facilities Department in building related remodeling, new construction, and property security measures.

  • Analyze maintenance indicators and achieve plant benchmarks and KPIs.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Degree/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience working in Maintenance, Manufacturing or a related field; Prior Management of people is desired

Qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving experience required

  • Prior experience working in a CMMS system preferred

  • Fluent in Preventative and Predictive maintenance techniques preferred

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of facility related functions including maintenance and operation of HVAC equipment, machinery repair and maintenance, custodial services, and plant safety acquired through formal technical training and/or work experience required

  • Thorough knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and issues as they relate preferred

  • Demonstrate effective collaborative communication, subordinate counseling and conflict resolution required

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a Manufacturing/office environment

  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.

  • Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.

  • Work is performed indoors/outdoors; may be exposed to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders.

  • Depending on the assigned department, must complete an audiogram test
