Job Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates, and administers a facility construction, renovation, maintenance and repair program for the institution in accordance with building plans and specification's and in compliance with health and environmental standards.
• Position requires experience in HVAC, electrical, fire alarms, PA/Intercom systems, kitchen equipment, plumbing, sprinkler systems, general carpentry, etc.

Must successfully complete four (4) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

• A High School diploma.

• Four (4) years of extensive working knowledge of principles and techniques of general maintenance and repairs, kitchen, equipment, plumbing, HVAC, etc.,

• Including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
