Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Design Engineer . This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.

What Youll Get To Do:

• Candidate will be a subject matter expert in Common Product Lifecycle Management (Teamcenter) to resolve user issues

• Triage and prioritize impact of user issues

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve user issues when possible

• Elevate user issues when needed

• Follow user support workflow

• Learn program and division Principle & Operating Practices to identify correct PLM usage

• Work closely with program user community

• Act as a liaison across multiple engineering disciplines across multiple programs

• Identify potential gap in processes

• Identify repeat and common user issues for training opportunities

• Perform tool testing.

• Assist with creating and maintaining product documentation in the form of job aids.

• Candidate will bring a strong ability to comprehend, implement and adhere to documented processes with an inherent ability to make sound decisions.

• Candidate will professionally represent the Strategic Deterrent Systems and Sentinel organizations while interacting with internal and external contacts including suppliers, senior personnel and executive leadership on matters requiring coordination between organizations and sectors.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Youll Bring These Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Design Engineer level (T03) or Sr Principal Design Engineer level (T04) .

Principal Design Engineer :

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of experience with PHD

Sr Principal Design Engineer :

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of experience with PHD

Required for Both Levels:

• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

• Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

• Experience working in with geographically distributed teams

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Experience with a ticketing workflow systems (Service Now)

• Experience with Siemens Capital & Xpedition

• Experience with CAE analysis tools

• Experience with configuration management

• Knowledge of System Engineering principles and requirements management

• Experience in defense system/subsystem product design

• Experience with Systems Engineering tools (CAMEO/DOORS) and architecture

• Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX

• Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM

• Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009

• Experience working with specialty engineering stakeholders (PM&P, Safety, Human Factors, others)

• Experience leading a team of engineers or project(s)

• Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, and measuring tools

• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; and ability to read and understand technical requirements documents

Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $143,600.00Salary Range 2: $107,800.00 - $178,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
