Position Description A concrete laborer's job description includes working as part of a crew setting up the forms in which concrete is poured to create footings, walls, floors, driveways, and other structures. They introduce rebar or wire mesh to reinforce the material, use rakes and other tools to spread and smooth concrete during the pouring process. They are required to work safely and follow all company procedures. Duties and responsibilities Set the forms Pour concrete Use rebar to reinforce the concrete Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project Willingness to learn and follow instructions Must be able to use all hand tools of the trade safely & proficiently Be able to do high-quality work at a fast pace Must be willing and able to work long hours & weekends Must be safety-oriented at all times Strong work ethic (dependable, excellent attendance, trustworthy) Ability to work well with others Must have a reliable means of transportation All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations Position Requirements Qualifications One year of Construction experience preferred Must be 18 years old at date of application Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment Working conditions Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises. May be required to work 50+ hours, 6 days a week. Physical requirements Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner. Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments. Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment. Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally. Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
