Industrial Electrician Job Description Support company maintenance requirements for machinery, facility, and safety initiatives. Maintain proper preventative maintenance schedules and documentation for all shop equipment. Support building system maintenance such as machine shop, compressors, tooling, generators, lighting, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. Upgrade, repair, and replace machinery parts and components as needed to maintain equipment. Oversee the machinery to ensure it is in optimal working condition. Responsibilities Support overall company electrical maintenance requirements for machinery and facility upkeep. Maintain electrical support for equipment in the machine shop. Assist mechanical assembly with troubleshooting of equipment breakdown and repair. Maintain electrical support of the building, ensuring all safety codes are complied with. Maintain the building wiring inspection and all electrical safety records as required by OSHA. Work independently on all types of maintenance repair, electrical repair, and installation. Operate machine shop equipment to make repair parts. Use electrical instruments to diagnose electrical problems. Perform various repairs to shop equipment and general and finish carpentry. Work with gas welding and cutting torches; electric welding on a variety of work. Maintain and repair water, oil, steam, air, and gas lines; fire and water pumping system; fork truck maintenance; and all types of electrical work. Maintain required housekeeping of work area and observe all safety rules. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and diagnosis of electrical issues. Proficient in electrical maintenance and repair of industrial manufacturing equipment. Ability to rebuild gearboxes and repair failures related to mechanical components. Skill in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Working proficiency with low voltage electrical practices. Proficiency in stick welding and torch cutting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in dismantling machinery to access and remove defective parts. Ability to inspect used or worn parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Skill in adjusting functional parts of machines, equipment, and control instruments. Capability to repair or replace defective parts and clean parts. Ability to start and run machinery to test their performance. Experience in setting up rigging for moving or handling equipment or heavy parts. Skill in designing, fabricating, and installing new and replacement equipment or components. Experience in taking/monitoring and documenting observations, settings, readings, meters, gauges as required. Ability to secure and complete required department work order documentation.
