Francis Marion University invites applications for an Assistant Director of Purchasing. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and professionally, while interacting with faculty, staff, students, members of the vendormunity, and the public.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervising theplex procurement of goods and services and other procurement personnel.
Planning and directing daily and long-range procurement operational functions.
Conducting pre-bid conferences and site visits.
Awarding contracts to vendors.
Monitoring contracts forpliance.
Formulating agency procurement policies and procedures.
Preparing and submitting required reports to SC Department of Procurement Services.
Researching new and changed goods and services.
Understanding the rules, regulations, and provisions of the Consolidated Procurement Code.
Understanding procurement management, property management, inventory control and supply functions.
Understanding of the suppliers of various goods and services.
Training other personnel regarding Procurement.
Networking with colleagues and the vendormunity to establish positive relationships between the department and its constituents.
Working well both independently and collaboratively; interacting efficiently and effectively with others.
Communicating effectively in written and verbal form.
Extensively utilizing the University's Enterprise Requirements Planning program.
Projecting a professional presence and oveing challenges with a positive and constructive attitude.
Assisting the Director of Purchasing with special projects.
Supervisor: s to the Director of Purchasing
State Requirements: A bachelor's degree and experience in procurement and contracts.
FMU Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.
State Classification: Procurement Manager I AC 30
Band/Level: 6/1
Salary: $46,655
