Senior Estimator

As a Senior Estimator with Acadia, you will be responsible for coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, internal resources, and clients to ensure that our bids are delivered on time and as accurately as possible for Acadia and our clients. Reviewing all bidding documents will be an extremely important component to the bidding process. This position will be required to constantly review, update, and follow all the project specific specifications. This position will also be required to review and submit accurate project qualifications that are required when submitting bids.
Responsibilities:
Perform take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
Analyze project plans and specifications, including plans, spec books & details, geotechnical reports, addenda, site conditions, and contract requirements to understand the scope and potential risks, and the requirements necessary to build the project
Prepare bid proposals and submit them to clients or project stakeholders
Request bids from vendors and subcontractors, evaluate their proposals, and negotiate contracts
Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate and competitive bids
Utilize specialized software for estimating purposes, such as Bluebeam or HCSS
Identify and assess potential risks that could impact the project cost or timeline
Attend monthly meetings to go over the different projects' progress and provide feedback
Review lead sites and all avenues to identify potential bid opportunities
Presenting Prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred and/or High School Diploma with 15+ years of experience in estimating and managing municipal utility work, rehab or TxDOT
Extensive experience in civil construction estimating, ideally with experience as a lead estimator on large projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Strong knowledge of specifications, bid documents, contract terms, and construction logistics
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop constructability plans
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Proficient time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated leadership in guiding and mentoring estimating team members
