Job Description
Maintenance Supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise a team of mechanics and technicians for various PM maintenance needs on plant equipment.
Start-up/shut down plant machinery each day.
Perform safe operation of the boiler and all boiler room equipment. Perform water and boiler tests.
Installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance inspections and services on industrial processing equipment, water levels, water systems and other equipment and systems.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
Prepare reports documenting work performed.
Responds to daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion to minimize equipment downtime.
Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
Making necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
Have a good understanding of computer-based programming (PLC) - Program PLC's
Perform lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Manage established productivity standards.
Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
Utilize CMMS system to log all work and perform preventative maintenance.
Proficient in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and schematics.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some locations may require relevant certifications, a boiler license or PLC programming, preferred
Minimum of two years industrial maintenance / engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder, and boiler applications.
Proficient in the proper use of power and hand tools.
Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase 230-volt systems.
PLC programming experience highly preferred
Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs is a plus.
Proficient in reading electrical schematics.
