Job Details Division: Nucor Steel Berkeley Location: Huger, SC, United States Other Available Locations: South Carolina Basic Job Functions: The role of the Hot Mill Mechanical Engineer is to Provide leadership and guidance for an accident-free workplace. Support the area operation by proactively improving quality and efficiency with machine modifications, emphasizing safety, equipment reliability, and cost control. Be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and documentation of all improvements and upgrades in the area of responsibility. The Hot Mill Mechanical Engineer must be available at all times as a technical resource for maintenance and operations. Demonstrate a strong commitment to engineering ethics and department goals. Must be willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends & holidays. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
