Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex technical and business initiatives. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and executing projects within defined timelines and budgets, ensuring successful delivery through structured methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a deep understanding of project lifecycle management and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Description
- Lead full lifecycle project management, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, change management, and stakeholder communication.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, outlining milestones, resource allocation, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and early risk identification.
- Guide cross-functional project teams to ensure on-time and on-budget completion of project deliverables.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure work aligns with contractual commitments.
- Monitor key performance metrics to assess team progress and alignment with project goals.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly and proactively to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Leverage tools such as Microsoft Project Online and Power BI for schedule creation and reporting.
- Lead complex, high-visibility projects with minimal supervision and support organizational change management efforts.
- Mentor junior project managers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Management Office.
- May advise or oversee junior staff, providing guidance, training, and mentoring.
- Engage with senior executives to align project execution with business priorities.
- Contribute to onboarding efforts and readiness planning for new team members.
- Lead PMO initiatives aimed at improving tools, processes, and governance.
- Provide project resource forecasting and allocation planning for large-scale initiatives.
Job Skills Required
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in project management beyond degree requirements.
- Minimum 6 years managing large-scale or enterprise-level projects.
- Minimum 2 years in a program management role (preferred).
- Proven experience in software project management and cross-functional team leadership.
- Expertise in creating and managing schedules using Microsoft Project Online or Project Server.
- Experience in reporting and analytics using Power BI.
- Familiarity with JIRA for task management and tracking (preferred).
- Waterfall methodology expertise is required; knowledge of hybrid or agile practices is a plus.
- Experience in energy, utility, or electrical markets is preferred.
- ServiceNow experience is a plus.
- Texas-based or open to relocation (preferred for long-term conversion opportunities).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (required).
- Masters degree in a related field (preferred).
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- PMP Project Management Professional (highly preferred)
- PgMP Program Management Professional (preferred)
