Essential Duties
Perform welding and fabrication work on diesel trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment.
Repair, reinforce, and modify frames, brackets, and other structural components.
Utilize a variety of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding) to ensure safe and durable repairs.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
Work with the Shop Manager to prioritize and schedule repairs based on operational needs.
Regular and predictable attendance is a fundamental requirement for this position, as it is essential for maintaining operational continuity, fostering effective teamwork, and upholding safety standards. Consistent presence enables the timely completion of repairs and projects, ensuring we meet customer commitments and maintain the high-quality service our clients expect.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Adhere to safety protocols and ensure welding is performed in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Identify and troubleshoot welding issues, providing accurate repairs and modifications.
Maintain and operate welding tools and equipment to avoid hazards and ensure job efficiency.
Collaborate with mechanics and shop personnel to efficiently complete repairs and fabrication tasks.
Use hand and power tools safely to assist in repairs and fabrication work as needed.
Follow project timelines and prioritize tasks to meet shop demands and customer expectations.
Keep accurate records of welding tasks and completed projects.
Perform additional duties as required to support overall shop operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication work.
Proven experience with MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently without regular management oversight.
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test in compliance with company policy.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Preferred Qualifications
Welding certification from an accredited trade school or program.
Experience working in a diesel truck or heavy equipment repair environment.
Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and compliance in a welding environment.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
Clean driving record as reflected in an MVR over the past three (3) years, with no serious traffic violations or major preventable accidents.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Welding certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment, regularly handling weights of up to 50 lbs. Additionally, candidates must be prepared for prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working in tight spaces. Dexterity and precision are essential for performing detailed welding tasks, as well as the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and fumes. Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, welding helmets, and safety glasses, is also a necessary aspect of the job to ensure safety during operations.
