The Training Division administers all training programs for WSP employees and also provides training for other law enforcement agencies.
This position performs and supervises skilled work in more than one trade or craft. The incumbent typically specializes in more than one trade or craft but performs journey-level and semi-skilled work in a variety of disciplines. The incumbent performs construction, maintenance, repair and modifications of buildings, facilities, mechanical equipment, machinery, special apparatus and utilizes a working knowledge of several related skill fields such as plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry and machinist work.
Our new teammate will be able to:- Repair and modify existing structures.
- Perform and plan required maintenance of facility equipment.
- Develop costs and solutions to facility issues.
- Supervise groundskeeper and custodial crew in day-to-day and special operations.
- Establishes and monitors safety of workers.
- Perform other duties as needed or directed, which may include assisting with preparation and setup of special events and availability for after-hours call out in the event of emergency repair(s). This may include assessing, mitigating, or providing temporary repairs to ensure facility operations.
- May occasionally require statewide travel to meet critical deadlines or attend training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of skilled work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work.
- Ability to read, understand and apply working drawings and blueprints.
- Must have a minimum of two years experience in one additional trade to provide maintenance on agency buildings, to include furniture, cabinetry, correcting HVAC issues, plumbing/irrigation, electrical, security, fencing, parking lot sealing and striping, curbing, excavations or other industry trade
