Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered (DHA), a minority-owned professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking talented and motivated Civil Engineers to join our growing teams in Largo and Silver Spring, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering design documents including plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates for review and submission to local jurisdictions.
  • Develop drainage area maps, perform hydrology analysis, and support stormwater management and storm drainage system design.
  • Design site layouts, grading, sediment & erosion control, roadways, and utility plans.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, clients, review agencies, and design teams on all phases of development.
  • Assist with construction document preparation and permit expediting.
  • Perform field investigations and constructability reviews as needed.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineers and team members.
  • Interpret and apply local jurisdictional codes, standards, and regulations, particularly in Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and Washington, DC.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion to resolve design problems and drive project progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 4 to 10 years of experience in site/civil land development or related engineering projects.
  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred (required within 6 months if not currently licensed).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with local jurisdictional design standards and codes is highly preferred.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in Prince George's County is a plus.
