Sweeper Vacuum Operator

Purpose: Actively promotes a work environment within the Operations Department that consistently delivers a World Class Experience while safely and efficiently operating Sweeper/Vacuum Truck. This position is for a motivated, self-starter that can work independently with direction from their supervisor. This is a field position; the candidate will be working outside at various locations and needs to be prepared to work in various weather and site conditions. Operators spend most of the day keeping the Lauren Concrete plant locations clean and compliant by sweeping the yards and roads of sand, rock, dirt, mud, debris, etc .

Supervisory Functions

• No supervisory responsibilities

Job-Specific Functions

• Safely operate a full-size commercial street sweeper/vacuum truck at Lauren Concrete facilities as well as possible concrete spills on public roads and customer property.
• Will occasionally need to operate an air chipper to remove concrete build up.
• Coordinate with Dispatch and Operations on spill response.
• Coordinate help as needed for removal of debris that is too large for the sweeper.
• Report obstructions or excessive debris that prevent sweeping.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection on assigned equipment and communicate issues to appropriate personnel.
• Perform some self-maintenance and servicing on equipment.
• Ensure cleanliness of equipment.
• Complete and submit all required forms as needed.

Ability

• Report to work on time and on a regular basis. Monday Friday with occasional Saturdays
• Represent Lauren Concrete in a professional manner in a variety of settings and circumstances
• Understand Sweeper functions, procedures, and processes
• Ability Lift 45 70 lbs. several times a day
• Ability to climb up and down stairs up to 10 feet.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Ability to obtain a valid medical examiners card.
• Plan routes for each day and week

Education/Experience

• One to three years of similar or related experience.
• Valid State of Texas Commercial drivers license required along with a violation-free Department Motor Vehicle record.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and/or Commercial Vehicles
