Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer

Primary Function: Support the Project Manager in managing jobsite operations and ensure technical compliance with engineering standards, particularly for water or wastewater treatment plant projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Support:

• Assist with billing, change orders, cost analysis, and coordination

• Monitor labor reports and advise on crew size, methods, and equipment

• Support scheduling and overall daily project management

Engineering Duties:

• Interpret specifications and prepare accurate production drawings

• Manage procurement, submittals, certifications, and material delivery

• Maintain project documentation and process vendor/subcontractor invoices

Implementation & Communication:

• Build strong relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors

• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with accurate cost forecasting

• Identify and pursue fair compensation for scope changes

Safety & Team Building:

• Enforce safety policies and recommend improvements

• Foster team development and mentor junior staff

• Promote a dependable and collaborative work culture

Qualifications:

• 4-year engineering degree or equivalent experience

• Experience with water or wastewater treatment plant projects is required

• Familiarity with Primavera and construction management practices

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Willingness to travel as needed
