Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and develop high-quality custom electrical power distribution equipment. If you are passionate about innovation, have a strong background in mechanical design, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 Design Engineers.
  • Coach junior engineers on standard practices and work expectations.
  • Drive projects within cross-functional teams to completion.
  • Execute team initiatives to align with overall company strategy.
  • Delegate work to subordinate engineers on assigned projects.
  • Provide project management guidance on all mechanical engineering aspects.
  • Offer technical direction for prototype builds and initial builds as required.
  • Check engineering drawings for completeness and accuracy.
  • Create and validate BOMs and drawings for submittal and fabrication.
  • Conceptualize, model, and create parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
  • Provide direction to the design team working on the project.
  • Analyze and respond to issues from customers and the assembly floor.
  • Operate independently on medium-scale assigned projects.
  • Fully model and create parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
  • Create and revise fully detailed engineering prints.
  • Create and release projects through the ECN process.
  • Conform to drafting and department standards and processes.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Strong background in engineering and mechanical design.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical processes to design and fabricate components.
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience operating a 3D design tool, preferably SolidWorks.
  • 7+ years of experience with sheet metal design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
