Student Intern Construction Management

Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is now accepting applications for a Student Intern position at the Cloverdale Maintenance location. This internship will provide hands-on experience in the areas of Engineering and Construction Management. This is a paid internship with an hourly salary of $16.00 per hour.

This Intern position is available to full-time students only. The Intern can work a flexible schedule with a maximum of 24 hours per week during the school year, and 40 hours per week during the school breaks.

Primary Responsibilities :

• The Student Intern will assist in monitoring, inspecting, and administrating contracts for ACHDs concrete and pipe repair needs, which includes investigating hazardous sidewalks and damaged or deteriorating pipes, documenting damage, and coordinating repair efforts.

Qualifications :

· Experience reading civil and architectural construction plans; good knowledge of construction practices and procedures; basic knowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development. The successful candidate must be organized, and have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.

· Must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to perform written work. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office software, and GIS experience is helpful.

· Construction Management or Civil Engineering major is preferred.

· Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Drivers License.
