The Lead Electrician for Nauvoo Historic Sites plays a vital role in maintaining and preserving the electrical systems that support the historic properties of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure while upholding the integrity of these sacred sites. Through expert maintenance, repair, and upgrades, the Electrician helps create an environment where visitors can experience the rich heritage and spiritual significance of Nauvoo
- Translate section-wide assignments into individual team member assignments, allowing for adaptation of goals and specific tasks to occur at the individual level within the scope of the assignment.
- Implement and manage a consistent process to regularly review team and individual performance, and counsels with team members on how to best make directional changes needed to achieve goals.
- Implements and manages applicable training programs and individual performance management goals that develop and utilize employees' talents and abilities in order to continuously improve team and individual performance.
- Creates and manages production schedules and assigns work orders.
- Monitors and manages approved operational budgets.
- Purchases materials, selects tools and manpower, and generally oversees assigned jobs. Performs follow-up to assure completeness and quality of finished jobs.
- Scope, design, engineer new and existing installations to minimize waste, and maximize efficiency. Installs conduit, wire and devices uniformly and avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, and is consistent with specifications, local and National Electrical Codes.
- Monitors and manages approved operational budgets.
- Estimates labor and material costs from descriptions, drawings, and work plans.
- Troubleshoot and repair of complex commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Provide preventive maintenance support of all existing building systems, including generators, transfer switches, UPS's, VFD's and emergency lighting control systems.
- Prepares sketches and drawings showing location of all wiring and equipment or follows schematics and diagrams and blueprints prepared by others. Coordinates activities with other crafts to insure minimum transition during new construction or remodeling.
- Performs inventory and manages shop equipment.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.
- Requires significant leadership skills and ability to effectively manage and develop employees.
- Requires significant professional knowledge and expertise found in someone with post journeyman level professional experience in the field.
- Must be proficient with computers including Microsoft products and company/department specific programs.
- Must have current licensure as a Commercial Master or Journeyman electrician and able to obtain one in Illinois.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- May be required to become DOT certified.
- May be required to obtain BICSI certification.
- Must have the ability to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to safely work from ladders, scaffolds and mechanical lifts and other high locations for extended periods of time.
- Must have good eye-hand-foot coordination as well as stable, controlled hand movement.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to independently lift objects weighing as much as 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to team lift and position objects weighing as much as 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to fit in 2 foot by 2 foot openings such as attics, crawl spaces, steam tunnels, etc.
- Must have at least 20/40 vision with or without corrective lenses and not less than 120 degrees combined horizontal peripheral vision.
