Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Construction Management Specialist with experience in industrial or commercial construction management and coordination. In this role, you will forward the Kairos mission to enable the world's transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal of dramatically improving people's quality of life while protecting the environment. This Construction Management Specialist will act as a key interface between design, construction, procurement, and other partners to support the timely and cost-effective delivery of various construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and/or lead design and construction-related meetings, serving as a liaison across project stakeholders
- Represent the owner in engagements with contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation to facilitate design and construction execution
- Apply relevant building codes, design standards, and industry best practices to inform construction decisions
- Coordinate with local utility providers to ensure infrastructure readiness and service alignment
- Conduct routine site observations and generate detailed construction progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure constructability is integrated into design development
- Track and report on construction budgets, schedules, and progress metrics
- Develop and deliver project updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure traceability and compliance
- Support review and administration of construction contracts, including monitoring contractor performance and adherence to scope
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and implementing changes in project scope, schedule, or budget
- Collaborate with quality control to ensure adherence to construction quality plans and specifications
- Support site safety efforts by ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols and participating in safety audits
- Coordinate with engineering and commissioning teams to ensure constructability supports successful system start-up and turnover
- Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery
Qualifications
- High School diploma; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or similar discipline is preferred
- 3+ years of industrial construction management experience
- Experience in managing priorities and timelines simultaneously
- Experience with construction of petroleum or chemical processing facilities preferred
- Experience in managing subcontractors and interfacing with vendors is desirable
- Working knowledge of construction scheduling software or project management tools is desirable
- Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory compliance in construction projects is desirable
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent construction safety training is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to interpret and apply construction documents, specifications, and drawings
- Proficiency with construction management systems and digital collaboration platforms
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary projects to accomplish objectives
- Ability to work with highly collaborative team
