Operates hand and power tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Assembles, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and fixtures for plumbing, water, drainage and heating systemsUNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Monitors inventory levels and orders parts, supplies, equipment, and materials
Examines, repairs, replaces, installs and adjusts leaks and malfunctions in water and sewer lines, pumps, garbage disposals, dishwashers, hot water heaters, gas lines, gas furnaces, and other plumbing fixtures
Provides technical assistance and instruction in pre-assembling plumbing and pipe fixtures, in the proper method and procedures to repair or replace plumbing fixtures, water and gas lines to assure compliance with OSHA and plumbing codes
Coordinates and schedules plumbing work that is required to be performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor
Saws openings in walls and floors to accommodate cooper or plastic pipe and pipe fittings using hand tools and power tools
Measures, cuts and threads pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch and pipe threading machine
Assembles and installs pipe fittings; joins pipes; glues, solders and caulks joints; and checks water lines to insure that leak is properly sealed
Studies blueprints to determine type of plumbing system required, location of water and gas lines, and the proper method to complete repair work

Some exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting at waist; lifting objects weighing up to 35 lbs. and transporting distances up to 50 yards.
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting
Works around moving parts, carts, or machines, and irritant chemicals
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, lowering, pushing/pulling, and twisting at waist
Lifts, pushes, and pulls objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Minimum Requirements:
Two years of licensed plumbing experience
Other Minimums:
Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Equivalency:
Certificate from a two year vocational program in Plumbing
Two years of residential or commercial plumbing installation, maintenance or repair experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
