Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team at a nuclear construction and modification company in Charlotte, NC/Aiken, SC. This is a long-term position offering relocation assistance, full benefits, and vacation.
The Mechanical Estimator will play a critical role in developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, working closely with project teams to ensure competitive and comprehensive proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed electrical and mechanical construction cost estimates for nuclear construction and modification projects.
- Analyze project documents, including drawings and specifications, to determine scope, labor, material, and equipment requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather and validate cost inputs.
- Develop pricing strategies and proposals that align with company goals and client requirements.
- Maintain and update cost databases to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to create, format, and analyze estimate spreadsheets.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure all estimating processes are transparent and meet deadlines.
- Assist in value engineering and risk analysis to enhance proposal competitiveness.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of construction experience, with a strong focus on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Must have ability to read drawings.
- Proven experience in estimating and proposal development, particularly in nuclear or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use advanced functions for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all estimates.
