As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds at the National Guard Readiness Center in Dickinson, North Dakota. Provide consistent maintenance services while adhering to safety practices and procedures. This is a "working" supervisor position that reports to the Physical Plant Director.
The Maintenance Supervisor will direct the work of all maintenance personnel, determine work schedules, conduct training, maintain inventory of maintenance equipment and repair parts, determine equipment maintenance needs and carry out a preventative maintenance program. Conduct physical inspections of the buildings and grounds to ensure established standards are met. Ability to lift up to 50 lb., possess a valid driver's license and may be required to work some weekends or additional hours, if needed. The incumbent requires a high degree of written and/or verbal communication skills in dealing with contractors, clients, and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma or GED and five (5) years of semiskilled or skilled building maintenance experience that includes experience in a supervisory or lead-worder capacity. A trade school certification or associates degree in facility maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or a related field may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis.
This position requires an understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general building systems, and grounds maintenance. Applicants should also have knowledge of safety regulations, codes and compliance requirements. Experience with maintenance scheduling, budgeting, contractor coordination and the ability to troubleshoot and repair common facility issues is helpful. Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks and background investigation are required.
