include but are not limited to Capable of assisting the Resident Engineer o Electrical Quality Assurance and Source inspection Office in all aspects of required field Electrical Construction InspectionQuality Assurance servicesUnderstand client and customer needsOperate within the customers safety protocols at all timesComplete all required documentation including Inspectors Daily Reports on a daily basisMust be capable of performing inspection for quality workmanship including field measurements of construction materials and productsMonitor construction Contractors quality control operations traffic control operations and monitor any special environmental contract requirementsIdentify changes errors or field adjustments to the contract documents and recommend action to the Resident EngineerMonitor Prevailing Wage laws regulations and labor complianceMinimum requirements Graduation from a four 4 year curriculum in civil engineeringPossession of a valid certificate as an Engineer in TrainingA documented minimum ten 10 years of demonstrated experience in construction inspection of highways or major public works projectsORA documented minimum ten 10 years of demonstrated experience in Electrical construction inspection of highways or major public works projectsANDExperience working with the California Department of Transportation Caltrans standards specifications and Construction Manual and Federal Highway Administration FHWA proceduresMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust meet internal requirements for operation of company vehicles throughout duration of employment and must maintain a valid drivers license and insurable driving recordMust be willing and able to travel to job sites sometimes for extended periodsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite such as Word Excel Outlook and TeamsStanding walking sitting lifting carrying pushing pulling reaching handling fingering feeling talking hearing visual acuity accommodation and color visionMoving carrying and lifting objects in excess of 50 poundsWorking extended hours and standing for extended periods of timeWorking in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and coldTechnical requirements Effective written interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff clients and outside agenciesProficient using Microsoft Office Word & Excel and AutoCADStrong problem solving skills including identifying data quality issuesStrong organizational skills including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervisionResults oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervisionAbility to make good decisions using sound professional
