Job Description

Lockheed Architectural Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Commercial Sales Estimator to join our growing team in our Pascoag, RI office. We are a reputable Glass and Glazing firm, established in 1955 specializing in commercial glazing and facade projects.

About the Role:

The Commercial Estimator is responsible for analyzing construction project requirements, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, and developing comprehensive bids for commercial glazing and facade projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, materials, labor, and equipment, as well as excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills. The Estimator collaborates closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure all aspects of a project are accurately priced and bid.

Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation:

• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial glass and glazing projects.

• Calculating labor, material, and time requirements.

• Blueprint and Specification Analysis:

• Thoroughly reviewing blueprints, specifications, and project documents.

• Performing "take-offs" to determine material quantities.

• Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:

• Soliciting and analyzing quotes from vendors and subcontractors.

• Negotiating pricing to ensure competitive bids.

• Bid Preparation and Submission:

• Compiling comprehensive bid packages.

• Ensuring timely and accurate bid submissions.

• Client Interaction:

• Discussing estimates and project details with clients.

• Maintaining strong client relationships.

• Project Monitoring:

• Providing ongoing support and communication throughout the project with Operations team(s)

• Database and Software Management:

• Staying current with industry-specific software and technologies.

• Project coordination:

• In many cases, the estimator may be involved in the hand off of the project to the project management team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in an estimating role, preferably within the glazing industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, Bluebeam etc.)
• Familiarity with Glazier Studio, Logikal or equivalent
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
