POSITIONSUMMARY

Theprimary responsibility is establishment of proper inventory stocking levels toprovide expected services levels to support the business, the replenishment andaccurate maintenance of the regions inventory, in compliance with MathesonsPreferred Vendor and Private Label programs. Reports to: InventoryControl Manager (ICM).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

This is done by scheduled, timely procurement of stocking inventory at the lowest total cost, and consistent with Mathesons Preferred Vendor and Private Label programs.
Usage figures will be analyzed and forecast in order to buy proper EOQ quantities to ensure best possible Inventory Turns and Days on Hand while maintaining desired customer service levels at lowest freight-in costs.
Purchase order pricing must be verified to insure cost accuracy.
Monitors Cycle Counting program for the region and insures that cycle counts are completed as scheduled to ensure accuracy of the on-hand inventory. Provides inventory management training to location personnel within the region.
In addition, spot ordering of items without freight limitations, drop-shipments, rush orders, etc. will be processed as needed.
Stock returns to vendors will be requested due to order errors, lost sales and overstock on a monthly schedule. Dead stock/surplus inventory will be identified, segregated and disposed of in accordance with Matheson Slow-Moving/Dead Stock policies.
Inventory adjustments will be made to assure inventory and stock status report accuracy.
Maintain Price lists for those regional/one-off vendors. (Management of costing from these vendors resides with Strategic Sourcing team (Hard goods Sourcing Managers & ICMs).
Assist sales personnel in sourcing and pricing of non-stock items, subject to oversight by Strategic Sourcing and compliance with Preferred Vendor and Private Label programs.
Assist the accounts payable department in resolving any invoice/purchase order discrepancies. Support negotiated terms and conditions of agreed to programs, identify gaps and work towards satisfactory resolution.
Manage supplier Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs for regional branches where applicable. Assure implementation, accuracy and viability of VMI programs for the region in accordance with existing Matheson policies.
Provide training, assistance, and oversight of branch personnel in resolving inventory and purchasing issues, profiling of inventory and optimization of inventory performance as measured by stock-outs, turns and obsolescence..
Supervise and direct warehouse personnel in unique cases
Resolve shipping discrepancies with vendors.
Report and file freight damage claims.
Perform other project and duties as directed by the Regional Manager to support performance of inventory in Packaged Gas business.

HOURS OF WORK: Typicalhours for this position are going to match the requirements of the customerbase Monday through Friday and possibly some Saturday hours if applicable. Thisis a full-time position, which may require traveling.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Degree in Business or Engineering, and at least 5 years proven experience in operational procurement environment.
Knowledge of industrial, medical, and specialty gas cylinders, bulk, cryogenic gases and related technologies a plus.
