A well-established and growing commercial general contractor in Corpus Christi is seeking a Director of Construction to lead all aspects of its commercial project operations. This is a high-impact leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape the construction strategy, mentor a strong team, and drive successful project outcomes across the region.

The ideal candidate is an experienced construction leader with a proven track record in managing teams, optimizing operational performance, and delivering large-scale commercial projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

  • Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure project excellence.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, safety, and profitability.

  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership on company goals, budgeting, forecasting, and staffing.

  • Manage subcontractor relationships, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and legal regulations.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

  • Strong background in managing ground-up, renovation, and/or design-build commercial projects.

  • Deep knowledge of construction processes, project management software, and financial oversight.

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
