HB Rentals is currently seeking a Yard Foreman to join our team in Broussard, LA . This position plans, coordinates and controls the day-to-day functions of equipment needed for projects for the Operations Manager and Shop Leads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mange material and equipment planning, placement, and systemization through the analysis, implementation and use of facility yard inventory management systems.
  • Organize rental inventory to ensure consistency of service and equipment quality standards across the Broussard, La facility.
  • Assist with all yard/facility operations ensuring completion of all tasks and maintaining a standard for rent ready items for all rental and build for sale projects.
  • Advises the Operations Manager on the available yard inventory and what equipment needs to be set up for the operations schedule of projects.
  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures is essential.
  • Make sure all equipment is rent-ready, completed and quality standards are achieved throughout the process.
  • Daily operation of heavy equipment including crane and forklift operations.
  • Maintain and complete daily crane and forklift pre use inspections.
  • Develop appropriate measures and processes to ensure execution and continuous productivity gains.
  • Provide transformational and proactive leadership to maintain a positive business climate that motivates the entire yard/facility team.
  • Load and offload all trucking of rental assets and new builds projects entering and exiting the facility in a safe and organized manner.
  • Always keep the yard and shop in a clean organized and well-maintained condition.
  • Coordinate and maintain sling availability for all projects per operations schedule as well as available spare inventory.
  • Promote and protect a culture devoted to working safely.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals - A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Ensures full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/customer, HSE procedures and emergency procedures.
  • Assist in identifying training gaps within the team assigned and work with the management team and HSE coordinators to close the gaps.
  • Ability to meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Operations Manager.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Heavy equipment operation and yard coordination experience preferred. Certificates or Licenses: 75,000+ LBS Gantry Crane and 35,000+ LBS Forklift
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to recognize areas of improvement and implement cost saving measures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work under time pressures, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills will be required to influence internal and external teams.
  • Must pass a physical, agility testing, and drug and alcohol screen
