NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a Master Scheduler to join our team in Sauk Rapids, MN! The Master Scheduler is responsible for the master schedule of the assigned Business Unit and provides detailed department schedules finding the balance between operations’ capacity and customer delivery expectations.
Job Title: Master Scheduler
Location: Sauk Rapids, MN (on-site)
Salary Range: $70,000 – $87,000 per year
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)
Shift Schedule : 1st shift Monday – Friday Business Hours
Shift Differential : 1st shift – N/A
As a Master Scheduler , you will:
- Develop master production schedule for assigned business group including flow through operational work departments
- Determine the need for material and capacity to address expected demand, execute the resulting plans, and update planning and financial information to reflect the results
- Schedule a timetable of events and decide when and where certain events will occur
- Establish the demand and planning time fences
- Interface with customer team to ensure alignment between schedule and customer requirements
- Lead planning team toward providing visibility and accuracy to an operationally achievable plan
- Consistently search for methods to develop an agile and committed departmental workforce
- Drive alignment and improvement of shop floor transaction discipline
- Create the rough-cut capacity plan by working with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure the schedule derived is achievable considering internal and external capacity
- Coordinate ECN (Engineering Change Notices) into the schedule
- Incorporate planning decisions to reduce material and product variability
- Orchestrate transition on make vs buy adjustments
- Assist manufacturing with process improvement and lean initiatives.
- Visualize the total process and aid in locating problem areas using process mapping, quality improvement, and visualization tools to locate, quantify, and correct root causes of problems
- Assist manufacturing management in the development of meaningful productivity and performance measurements
Role Qualifications as a Master Scheduler:
- Preferred candidates will have BA or BS degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain or other Business program
- Preferred candidates will have Certification in APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
- Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of related experience
- Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
- Close understanding and practical knowledge of a company’s manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities
- Understand output of materials requirement planning (MRP), capacity management, and advanced planning system technologies
- Understand calculations for efficiency, utilization, and productivity
- Demonstrated ability to calculate nominal and demonstrated productive capacities
- Understand the planning requirements for managing make-to-stock and make-to-order manufacturing environments
- Understand the concept of forecast consumption by actual sales orders
- Understand the tasks in managing available-to-promise and capable-to-promise portion of the master schedule
- Educational or experience in statistics, math and analytical thinking
- Educational or experience in supply chain fundamentals
- Education or experience in operations and enterprise economics
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficient in MRP and ERP systems – EPICOR experience preferred
- Demonstrates accountability and ownership
- Ability to display a customer focus (internal and external)
