Welder - Project Job Description We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Bremerton. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components used in the construction and repair of ships. This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities Perform various welding techniques, including Stick and Flux, to join metal components according to blueprints and specifications. Proficiency in Stainless Steel welding is a plus. Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition. Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Work closely with other trades, such as pipefitters, electricians, and shipfitters, to ensure seamless project execution. Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience as a welder, preferably in a shipyard or marine environment. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a welding apprenticeship program is preferred. Proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Additional Skills & Qualifications DBIDS/Green badge is required. Experience in ship repair and marine repair. Familiarity with Mig, Stick, and dual shield welding techniques. Why Work Here?
