Be the Structural Backbone Behind Aerospace Innovation
Join PDS Tech Commercial as a Structural Engineer Consultant in El Segundo, CA, and help shape the future of aerospace production. In this high-impact role, you'll drive the design, analysis, and innovation of precision tooling and structuralponents used in advanced aerospace fabricationcontributing directly to mission-critical builds and cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
What You'll Do Day-to-Day
As a key engineering contributor embedded in a dynamic aerospace environment, your focus will be ensuring the structural integrity andpliance ofplex tooling systems. You will:
Perform structural analysis (static and dynamic) using FEMAPNASTRAN for metallic andposite aerospace tooling structures.
Design and draft toolingponents (jigs, fixtures, dies, etc.) using CAD software (CATIANX).
Develop detailed engineering reports and validate the work of peers.
Solveplex engineering problems through both hand calculations and finite element methods.
Collaborate across teams and levelsfrom fellow engineers to customer representativesto align on technical requirements and innovative solutions.
industry standards and specifications, with a focus on fabrication shoppatibility and production performance.
What We're Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's in a STEM field with 6+ years OR Master's with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Expertise in structural stress analysis, GD&T, and interpreting engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5).
Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIANX) and FEM software (FEMAPNASTRAN).
Experience with tooling fabrication, includingposites and coatings in aerospace production.
Strongmunication and independent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
PE license or in pursuit (California preferred).
Background in aerospace tooling and mechanics.
Current active DOD Secret Clearance (within last 5 years).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
