Job Summary

This position performs the function of operating various assembly and inspection equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Setup and operate surface mount technology (SMT), Automated optical Inspection (AOI), and selective solder equipment following predetermined methods and specifications.
  • Load, setup, and unload SMT feeders.
  • Set up reflow oven for soldering printed circuit board assembly.
  • Verify work order kits and setups.
  • Perform hand placement and soldering of components.
  • Ensure equipment functions safely.
  • Perform basic inspection of circuit board assemblies.
  • Daily cleaning of equipment, tools & work area.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues.
  • Ability to perform semi-routine adjustments and quality auditing.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on SMT and selective wave machines.
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Conforms with ESD policy, safety practices, FOD control, and ISO procedures.
  • The goal for this individual is to have zero OBF's in the performance of their job function, and to produce results the exceed quality goals and increase customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualification

  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person")
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of experience in the field of electronics/ hardware cable work or degree in electronics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- includes physical requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day
  • Performs assembly at a work bench in sitting and standing positions
  • Ability to visually inspect components and computerized reports via monitors
  • Ability to manipulate small objects with hand and see objects with small details and parts
  • Ability to solder and use various hand tools, including a crimper may be helpful
  • Occasionally lift and grasp computer servers, electrical tools and hardware items. Requires lifting of 10 - 50 lbs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions
  • The ability to see details at close range (within few feet of the observer).
