Building Inspector**Annual wage range: $60,216 - $84,302Extended Application deadline: May 25th Join our team at the City of Casper as a Building Inspector! We are looking for dedicated professionals to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations across industrial, commercial, and residential projects. As a Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and standards in our community. **Key Responsibilities:**- Inspect completed and in-progress building work to ensure adherence to approved plans, codes, and City ordinances.- Conduct inspections of structural and architectural elements for compliance with regulations.- Coordinate inspections with other City departments and divisions.- Review building plans and specifications, authorizing changes in work procedures as needed.- Communicate building requirements and restrictions to architects, contractors, builders, and the public.- Identify unsafe or illegal conditions at work sites, recommend corrective measures, and follow up to ensure compliance.- Prepare and maintain inspection results, files, logs, and related reports.- Provide technical assistance and direction to other building inspection staff.- Represent the City of Casper with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.**Qualifications:**- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in building construction or related field preferred.- Minimum of six years of experience in construction and installation of building systems.- Valid Wyoming driver's license preferred.- Ability to obtain a Class IIA or higher General Contractor License and I.C.C.
