Weare looking for passionate problem solvers who want to elevate design, pushboundaries and create a more resilient future.The Denveroffice of SmithGroupis looking for aSenior Mechanical Engineertojoin our team.Working with us, you will:Serve as the engineering leader through all stages of a project of any sizeand play a larger role in the marketing of the studio and management of thediscipline.Lead and perform analysis, design and documentation of heating,ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls.Assist in establishing project goals, budgets and schedules, track projectperformance, and follow/enforce quality control procedures.Meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors and othersto address mechanical discipline issues and to develop effective workingrelationships.Present engineering design solutions to client representatives and/or designreview committees.Serve as a mechanical systems specialist, conduct research in problem areasof considerable scope/complexity and devise solutions.Contribute to SmithGroup sustainable design initiatives by using a variety ofsoftware to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluiddynamic calculations.Mentor junior and intermediate level staff and participate in performancecoaching.Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested.An ideal candidate has:A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineeringor equivalent.Minimum 10 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer designingHVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, sustainable design and automaticcontrol systems, including experience performing energy modeling.LEED AP preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.The ability to lead and mentor others in area of expertise.Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability tounderstand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines.Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office Suite software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealing with internal andexternal clients.At SmithGroup, we are committed to helping our staff thrive with greatprojects and time to unwind.
