Job Description
Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to procure goods and services for the City. Employees in this classification perform purchasing and contracting work. Position is responsible for processing purchase order, bid specifications, purchasing supplies/equipment, bid review, and other purchasing functions. Performs related work as directed.

- Performs competitive bid processes, prepares bid specifications, conducts public opening of bids, analyzes bids, prepares for City Commission approval.
- Processes and files Purchase Orders.
- Responds to inquiries and requests from city departments or the general public.
- Attends purchasing meetings as needed.
- Orders, receives, stocks, and distributes supplies and materials.
- Plans and conducts City auctions of surplus property.
- Issues city credit cards to department representatives for purchases; conducts monthly credit card reconciliations.
- Prepares Petty Cash reimbursements.
- Prepares and/or reviews periodic reports documenting events and activities such as bid spreadsheets, and petty cash and inventory reports.
- Analyzes recommendations for municipal vehicle purchases.
- Maintains city vehicles' tags and titles.
- Engages and maintains citywide copy machine agreements.
- Completes Co-op survey requests by soliciting information from user departments.
- Assimilates City Policy Manuals and Procurement Codes to ensure assigned duties are performed correctly.
- Coordinates and negotiates with vendors to ensure that the City acquires the highest quality goods and services for the best price.
