Maintenance Operator

This is a Safety-Sensitive Job for Purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.

This position is considered Essential Personnel under the LRCVB Inclement Weather policy.

JOB OBJECTIVE: To repair and perform a variety of skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities at Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) managed facilities.

1. Responds to daily work orders utilizing accepted principles and practices, to perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance in and around LRCVB managed facilities.
2. Troubleshoots routine malfunctions in electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures; replaces and repairs malfunctioning motors, switches, wiring, and fixtures as directed by manager.
3. Installs and connects electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to specifications.
4. Operates various power tools to splice wires, solder connections, cut and drill wiring holes for fixtures and attach and anchor fixtures and conduit; operates various meters to test voltage, amperage and continuity of electrical circuits.
5. Performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, fixtures, wiring, and motors.
6. Conducts periodic routine preventive maintenance inspections for all LRCVB facilities.
7. Maintains records of equipment maintenance, including approximate amounts of fluids, such as oil or grease needed, and hours of operation since previous servicing.
8. Operates a computer in completion of essential job functions.
9. Operates a light truck to transport tools, materials, and equipment to various work sites.
10. Operation of forklift as assigned.
11. Handles, uses, and disposes of all chemical products in accordance with OHSA guidelines. Disposes of all solid waste in accordance with LRCVB sustainability practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of high school or vocational technical school in the building trades, one (1) year experience in building maintenance operations, and one (1) year of experience in microcomputer use. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Drivers License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must show proof of valid automobile insurance before being approved to drive any LRCVB vehicle.
• Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Must possess a forklift certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain license for the duration of employment in this position.
