Client is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager for a direct hire role initially supporting a project in the Charleston, SC, then to Washington DC area on a long term basis. You will oversee safety and health management on project sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of safety. This position requires an individual with a strong dedication to sustainable energy solutions and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Generous annual bonus potential based on individual and company performance.

responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Construction Project Manager
- Implement and maintain the Occupational Health & Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 45001.
- Manage and enforce the Safety Accident Prevention Plan.
- Track safety deficiencies and ensure timely resolution.
- Develop safety proposals, interpret regulations, and create training materials.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in project scheduling and site logistics.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Support project and business development efforts.
- Collect field data and perform necessary office tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and safety management including on-site field work.
- Passion for energy efficiency, alternative energy, and sustainability.
- Ability to work flexible hours during project implementation.
- Engineering, analytical, and technical writing skills are advantageous.
- Knowledge of EM 385 is a plus; OSHA-30, CSP, ASP certifications preferred but not required.
