Position Overview: Builder Maker

Are you ready to turn imagination into reality? As a Builder Maker, you’ll be at the heart of our creative team, constructing and fabricating scenic elements and sets for theatrical productions, film sets, live events, and immersive exhibitions. You’ll transform bold design concepts into high-quality, tangible structures that captivate and inspire audiences.

This is the perfect opportunity for detail-oriented, inventive makers who thrive on hands-on work and love collaborating with fellow creatives. You’ll work closely with designers, artists, and production teams from concept to completion, ensuring every build meets our high standards for craftsmanship, safety, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct & Assemble Scenic Elements : Build and install walls, platforms, props, furniture, and large-scale set pieces based on detailed design specifications.
  • Fabricate with Diverse Materials : Bring creative visions to life using wood, metal, foam, plastics, and more.
  • Operate Tools & Equipment : Safely use and maintain a variety of tools and machinery, including saws, drills, welders, and CNC machines.
  • Collaborate Creatively : Work closely with designers, artists, and production teams to deliver projects accurately, on time, and to the highest creative standards.
  • Solve Creative Challenges : Troubleshoot and resolve technical and artistic challenges during the build process.
  • Event Setup & Teardown : Set up and dismantle event structures, themed environments, and props, ensuring every installation is safe, memorable, and of the highest quality.
  • Prop Creation & Maintenance : Design, create, repair, and modify props using woodworking, sculpting, painting, sewing, and other techniques.
  • Manage Materials & Workspace : Keep materials, tools, and workspaces organized and efficient; source supplies within budget.
  • Ensure Safety & Quality : Guarantee all scenic elements and props meet safety standards for interactive and haunted environments.
  • Venue Restoration : Assist with post-event cleanup, teardown, and venue restoration.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in carpentry, fabrication, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or CAD files.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, work long shifts, and adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience in scenic construction, theater production, or event production is a plus.
  • Portfolio of relevant work required with your application.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for project-related activities.
  • A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
