Principal Mechanical Engineer

Principal Mechanical Engineer | Portsmouth, NH | Full-Time
Novocure is pioneering cancer treatment through Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) and is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of advanced medical devices. This is a high-impact, strategic role for a hands-on engineer with strong technical and leadership skills. Youll collaborate across global teams, including vendors in the US and UK, and work closely with our Israeli R&D group.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design for multidisciplinary, portable medical devices
Drive projects from concept through manufacturing and regulatory approval
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external industrial designers
Own thermal management, plastics, mechanisms, and electro-mechanical integration
Perform hands-on validation, testing, and risk mitigation
Guide product decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure design compliance

What You Bring:
BSc in Mechanical Engineering (MSc preferred)
10+ years of mechanical design experience in medical or highly regulated industries
Expertise in plastic part design, thermal analysis, battery integration, and design for manufacturing
Strong communicator with diplomatic, culturally aware leadership style
Experience working independently and across time zones with global teams
Comfortable extracting information, managing ambiguity, and driving clarity

Other Details:
Travel to US, Europe, and Israel required
Reports to the Senior Manager, Engineering
