Min Mid Max $16.94 $21.18 $25.42 Role SummaryThis position performs experienced level carpentry and masonry work in the planning, laying out, constructing, and repairing temporary and permanent buildings, exterior and interior. This is a non-supervisory position that provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel.
Examples of Work Performed- Under supervision performs carpentry in the construction, repair and renovation of floors, stairways, partitions, doors,windows, and screens from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Assist in installation of glass in windows, doors, and partitions, drop ceilings, sheet rock, paneling, and other roughened work as required; replaces damaged ceiling tile, fl oor tile, and other damaged equipment as assigned.
- Under supervision operates woodworking equipment and machines to saw, plane, drill, or mortise lumber for doors, cabinets, shelves, molding, and related fi xtures, cuts mortises for locks, hinges, and doors.
- Provides estimates to experienced carpenters for approval on amount of required lumber and supplies for project; selects the type of lumber and material necessary.
- Under supervision performs construction projects such as grading, setting metal and wood forms for curbs and gutters instreet and parking lot construction; supervises projects including setting forms for walks, drives, and patios; pouring andfi nishing concrete on curbs, gutters, driveways, parking lots, and floor slabs.
- Supports experienced carpenter in all types of repairs and construction involving woodwork, metal work, hardware installation and adjustments, door hanging and window repairs; and other items incidental to the maintenance of buildings.
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Assists with construction and remodeling projects.
2. Assists in the installation and repairs of windows, doors, partitions, floors, and ceilings.
3. Operates woodworking equipment and machines.
Education: High School or Equivalent
Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
Preferred QualificationsSome experience related to the above-described duties and/or completion of a Career and Technical Education Program
Licensure: Must possess a valid drivers license or be able to obtain one within Six (6) months of employment.
