Title of Position: Industrial Electrician

At Silvi Concrete, the Industrial Electrician leads tasks related to the electrical installation, maintenance and repair of panels and electrical machinery. They demonstrate initiative, responsibility, have good interpersonal skills and are adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment. We encourage Industrial Electricians to participate in company paid, continuing education to stay abreast of both the technical knowledge related to their profession and to the changes related to safety compliance. Toward that end, we offer on-the-job training, formal course work for certifications and tuition reimbursement.

Company Description

Through a combination of growth and acquisitions, Silvi Concrete has become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products in the Northeast, US. Today, the company manufactures concrete at multiple locations and supplies those plants with materials from its own mining operations and deep-water port facility.

Position Essential Functions Responsibilities
  • Installation of electrical wiring
  • Preventative maintenance of mining, concrete plant, and manufacturing machinery
  • Maintenance of related electrical parts, equipment, and machinery including electric motors, network switches, AC/DC systems and PLCs
  • Troubleshooting of panel issues and misfires
  • Routine testing of equipment
  • Long term problem solving of repeat concerns and production interference
  • Repair of high voltage boxes
  • Operation of digital and electronic instrumentation including electrical circuits and controls
  • Work assignments carried out in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience required as an Electrician or related field
  • 5 years experience or more preferred as an Electrician or related field
  • Completion of a technical school in an electrical technology career school or program highly preferred
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manual using diagram schematics and parts manuals.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations (i.e. OSHA, MSHA) are a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Committed to preventing costly delays in production that can result from machine breakdown.
  • Willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Sense of urgency and ownership to complete assignments.
  • Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in all weather conditions.
