Sales Design Engineer

Crestron Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Lighting Controls Sales Design Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team in a fast growing organization. We are seeking a polished, proactive, and professional Design Engineer to support the Commercial Lighting Sales Support Services Department. In this role, you will assist a wide variety of customers (electrical engineers, lighting designers, specifiers, contractors, end users, etc.) in a firm that cultivates a close-knit and collaborative corporate culture. We will look for you to showcase your intuitive interpersonal skills, outstanding communication abilities, and proven leadership to interface with customers and provide design advice and expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customers via phone, video conferencing, and e-mail to provide Crestron solutions for sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for project specific Deliverables including: specification materials, pricing, and any other supporting documentation required to win high-profile jobs and grow our business.
  • Complete specialized custom projects as needed to support the Sales Team, producing sales resources and tools.
  • Work on multiple tasks simultaneously (between 8-10 at any time).
  • Multi-task to meet tight deadlines.
  • Design layouts and systems using AutoCAD.
  • Design solutions conforming to local energy codes for projects across the country.
  • Maintain and contribute to a database of over 100+ detail drawings and documents.
  • Answer technical questions and provide guidance on wide ranging issues relating to ongoing commercial lighting projects.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience in lighting control design
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field and/or equivalent level of training and experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, REVIT, or other space planning/construction drawing software
  • Experience with Accubid Anywhere is a plus
  • Experience with Networking is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, contract documents and energy codes (DIV-26 specs, IECC 2021, Title-24, etc...)
  • Familiarity with specific dimming technologies preferred (0-10V, DALI, DMX, etc.)
  • Understanding of lighting control equipment and associated manufacturers (Crestron, Lutron, Acuity, ETC, Wattstopper, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.

Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($77,500 - $110,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual’s offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
