Loader Operator Position Available

We are looking for a heavy equipment operator with prior experience to operating heavy construction equipment such as trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, etc., with a minimum of 3 years of operating experience. Applicants are expected to continue to grow and improve operator skills through continued experience, knowledge and on the job training.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES - INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Duties:
-Safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment and any other equipment related to the assignment
-Perform operational and safety checks of equipment prior to use
-Maneuver heavy equipment into loading/unloading positions, understanding and following commands from the crew as needed and ensure positioning is correct
-Identify and report and document unsafe conditions, injuries/accidents, and necessary repairs in a timely manner in order to promote correction to allow continuation of work
-Operate a variety of units including gasoline and diesel-powered units
-Constant effort to improve operations and provide seamless customer service
-Keep detailed and accurate timecards, equipment sheets, and logs of working hours and vehicle use
-Communicate effectively with co-workers both verbally and in written form
-Manual labor throughout the shift as required
-Basic understanding of blueprints, GPS machine control and rover
-Good knowledge of survey staking
-An intermediate understanding of the importance of meeting schedules and deadlines by working closely with Foreman and Supervisors.
-Communicating both verbally and in writing with Foreman on import and export quantities
-Basic knowledge of GPS and machine control systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
-OSHA 10
-Equivalent to high school diploma
-Must have a valid Nevada driver license
-Three (3) years of full-time experience in the operation of a variety of heavy equipment
-High level of integrity, a strong work ethic, and leadership skills
-Confident, consistent, and decisive personality
-Can work with little supervision/independently and be self-directed and has knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
-High flexibility with solid interpersonal skills that allows effective work within a diverse and unpredictable environment
-Adjustment/preventive maintenance, and storage of equipment and a variety of trucks and other related equipment
-Operation of equipment such as front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, etc.
-Public works maintenance and repair methods and techniques related to the area of assignment
-Traffic laws and ordinances related to equipment use in the area of work
PREFERRED SKILLS
-Direct the work of a crew ensuring safe work procedures are observed at all times
-Operating a variety of construction equipment and trucks properly and safely
-Ability to perform maintenance and adjustments to assigned equipment
-Recognize potentially hazardous situations related to an assignment and taking the appropriate action
-Read and understand plans and maps
-Accurate record keeping
-Contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities
-Establish and maintaining effective and trusting working relationships with those involved in the work
-A Nevada A, B or C class commercial driver license is beneficial

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Work Conditions:
-Physical ability to lift up to 100 lb
-Hazards associated with the trade
-Exposure to construction sites
-Safety equipment will be required such as steel-toed safety boots
-Work both indoors and outdoors
-Will be required to work in extreme weather conditions
-Overtime as required
