Stellar J Corporation, a West Coast based employee-owned General Contractor, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the corporate headquarters in Woodland, Washington.
Stellar J primarily operates on the West Coast focusing on Bridges, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Treatment Plants, Fish Hatcheries and Passages, Seismic Retrofits of existing structures, Municipal Landfill Construction, Marina Construction / Terminal Upgrades, Federal Fuel System Upgrades, Airports/Seaports, Dairy and Food Waste Digesters
Primary Responsibilities
Assists in loading and unloading of equipment and materials
Assists in service and repair of company-owned equipment
Basic trouble shooting skills for a variety of equipment manufacturers and vehicles
Maintain clean driving record at all times
Operates company vehicles safely and in accordance with traffic rules and regulations
Performs preparation and cleanup of construction equipment as directed Shop Manager
Performs receiving function of delivered equipment and materials; Ensures paperwork is accurately completed and delivered to the appropriate department
Promptly reports equipment problems, shortages, or unsafe conditions to Shop Manager
Repair and complete ongoing maintenance/service of heavy equipment both at headquarters and jobsites
Uses sound judgment to deal with and eliminate safety related issues
Utilizes company tools and equipment safely and properly
Maintains clean, safe work environment for self and team members
Qualifications
Heavy equipment experience required; construction experience preferred
Experience with dump trucks, excavation equipment
Diesel, gas, electrical, hydraulic knowledge, including parts manuals
Methods, materials, equipment and operation of heavy equipment and mechanical repairs
Automotive repair experience a plus
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
Able to lift 50lbs, bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time
Clean Driving Record required
Drivers license, CDL class A or B a plus
Willing to travel, some overnight depending on jobsite locations
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft suite
Basic set of tools to perform maintenance on trucks/heavy equipment
