Millwright Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Millwright to join our maintenance team at our lumber
remanufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining,
troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of mechanical equipment essential to our production
operations. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, preventative maintenance
practices, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete and manage work orders and preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., inspections, oil
changes, meter readings).
Perform a wide range of routine and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure equipment
reliability.
Respond promptly to incoming maintenance requests from various departments.
Communicate clearly with supervisors (Maintenance Manager or Facilities Manager) about
existing and potential mechanical issues.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage.
Prioritize and organize job assignments based on urgency and plant needs.
Clean, maintain, and properly store tools and equipment used in daily tasks.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures safety is our top priority.
Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical blueprints.
Troubleshoot equipment to diagnose mechanical problems and determine root causes of
failure.
Install, align, and assemble industrial machinery and equipment according to specifications.
Dismantle and disassemble machinery components for repair or part replacement.
Conduct equipment inspections and tests to assess repair requirements and ensure safe
operation.
Repair or replace faulty components using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and specialized
equipment.
Align and adjust machinery for proper operation within required tolerances.
Lubricate and service machines to prevent wear and prolong equipment life.
Calibrate machinery to maintain precision and optimize performance.
Participate in ongoing preventive maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a millwright or industrial mechanic, preferably in a lumber or heavy
manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and solve complex equipment issues.
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong commitment to safety and following established protocols.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, climbing).
Relevant trade certification or journeyman status is an asset.
Work Environment:
Industrial lumber remanufacturing facility with exposure to loud machinery, dust, and varying
temperatures.
PPE provided and required at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots).
Rotating shifts or weekend work may be required depending on production needs.
Compensation & Perks:
Hourly Pay: $28.00 $32.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Overtime: Eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate for hours over 40 per week
Paid Time Off:

o 6 paid holidays annually
Sick Leave: Earned in accordance with Oregon law (minimum 1 hour per 30 hours worked)
Tool Allowance: $300 annually after 6 months of employment
