OKLAHOMA COUNTY DISTRICT 3 PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all team members are expected to meet the following requirements:
Consistent, on-time presence at the designated worksite for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Requires 24/7 on-call availability for emergencies.
Work cooperatively with all members of the District 3 Highway Department.
Manage workload, ensuring quality and timely completion, while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with team members.
Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with team members, and management.
Demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, dependability, and flexibility.
Serves the county and public in a professional manner as a representative of the Oklahoma County District 3 Highway Department and staff.
POSITION PURPOSE: Experienced equipment operation with respect to grading, drainage, sub grade preparation, and paving. Be familiar with and have experience in asphalt paving and the operation of equipment dealing with asphalt specific areas. Operates and maintenance heavy construction equipment. Work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of specialized excavating, hoisting, oil spreading and other construction equipment. The operation of this equipment entails considerable manipulative difficulty, and employees are responsible for the safety of other workers who assist with the work performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to the following:
Inspect equipment and machinery used for road building, bridge maintenance, tinhorn installation, and repair operations.
Ensure that PPE is use properly; signage is installed properly, and safe work processes are followed. Safety related issues and problems are immediately reported to the supervisor.
Runs and operates following equipment or machinery: e.g., trucks, track hoes, backhoes, skid steers, dozers, rollers, packers, motor graders and others as needed.
Cleans up debris, and hauls bulk materials such as gravel, and keeps rivers, creek beds and streams clean.
If properly trained, may then operate a Distributor machine for road surface repairs.
Operates road chipper lay-down operation behind Distributor truck.
Use of excavation equipment. Dig and clean trenches.
Basic understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
Knowledge of road construction processes and materials.
Maintenance of equipment and make sure all equipment is fueled, greased and fluid levels are checked before each use.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be sent to other facility locations and operations to perform duties as required.
Overall responsibility for the condition of their Equipment such as cleaning, routine maintenance and inspection, etc.
Report any violations to supervisor
Completion of all team tasks, not limited to equipment operating.
Awareness of surrounding equipment, vehicles, pedestrians, objects, etc.
Attend scheduled LTAP classes.
Other assignments and tasks as needed to assist the District 3 team in completing a project efficiently, professionally and by meeting all deadlines set.
