Hydrovac Operator

The Hydaker-Wheatlake Co (HWC) is seeking a Hydrovac Operator to join our growing team!

Essential Job Functions:

• Safely and efficiently operate hydrovac equipment to perform excavation, daylighting, trenching, and cleanup tasks around sensitive underground infrastructure.
• Prepare job sites by ensuring safe and compliant setup, such as following road safety rules, barricading work areas, and verifying utility locations.
• Conduct pre-and post-trip inspections and basic maintenance of equipment. Report any issues or malfunctions promptly.
• Accurately complete paperwork related to projects, including daily logs, safety reports, and work summaries.
• Collaborate with the team, clients, and supervisors to ensure clear communication and compliance with all job requirements.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies regarding safety, environmental protection, and operational standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating hydrovac equipment is preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record.
• Current member of, or willing to join, the IUOE.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight as required for project locations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to follow complex instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
